Good value for a first camera

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for something affordable but still reliable. I picked up an E1 Zoom during a flash sale. The price was really good, much cheaper than some other brands I looked at. It felt like a good deal. Setting it up was quick, and the pan and tilt feature works well. Definitely happy with the value.

So happy with my NVR!

I just received my RLK8-800B4 system and I am so excited! Everything was packaged perfectly and the cameras look really sturdy. I'm already planning where to put them all. This is going to make my home so much safer. I'm definitely going to buy more Reolink stuff in the future, maybe some of their floodlights next!

Good little camera

I got the E1 Pro a few weeks back for my living room. It was pretty easy to set up, just plugged it in and connected to WiFi. The picture is clear and it does what I need it to do. Pretty happy with it overall.

Decent camera, slow shipping

I ordered the Reolink Video Doorbell WiFi and it's been working fine. The video quality is good, and the alerts come through quickly. Installation was straightforward enough. My only real complaint is that shipping took almost two weeks to get to me in Florida, which felt a bit long. Otherwise, a solid product for the price.

Detailed review of Argus 3 Pro

I purchased the Argus 3 Pro with a solar panel after doing some research for a battery-powered outdoor camera. Ordering was smooth on their website. It arrived in about 6 days to California, well-packaged. Setup was fairly simple using the app, though I did have a minor issue connecting to my 5GHz WiFi initially; switching to 2.4GHz solved it immediately. The video quality is quite good for a battery camera, especially during the day. Night vision is decent, not outstanding, but good enough to see what's going on. The battery life with the solar panel has been excellent; it stays charged even on partly cloudy days. Motion detection works reliably, and I appreciate the person/vehicle detection feature, which cuts down on false alarms. I had a question about cloud storage options, and their online chat support was responsive and helpful. Overall, it's a solid camera with good features for the price point.

Are Reolink cameras actually good quality? I've seen some mixed reviews and wasn't sure if they're legit or just cheap knock-offs.

A Andre 2 months ago
I've had several Reolink cameras for years, including a couple of 4K ones. They've been super reliable for me, especially the PoE models. No complaints.

They're definitely legit. Not like some of those super cheap brands. I'd say they're a solid mid-range option, good bang for your buck compared to Ring or Arlo.

Can you use more than one coupon code at checkout? Like, if I have a newsletter discount and a student discount?

T Troy 2 months ago
From my experience, it's usually just one code per order. They don't let you stack 'em.

I tried that once, doesn't work. You can only use one coupon. But sometimes the bundle discounts are automatic and don't need a code, so that's kinda like getting a deal without a coupon.

Is there a student discount available? I'm trying to set up some cameras for my apartment but funds are tight.

T Todd 2 months ago
Yeah, I think they do have one! Check their site, usually under a 'special discounts' section or something similar.

Pretty sure I saw a student discount mentioned somewhere. Might need to verify your student ID through a service like Student Beans or something like that.

Anyone tried the TrackMix WiFi? How does it compare to something like a similar Eufy camera? Wondering about the dual lens thing.

R Raj 2 months ago
I have the TrackMix PoE, not the WiFi, but the dual lens is awesome. My friend has a Eufy and it's good, but the Reolink's tracking is a bit smoother and the zoom on the second lens is really clear.

Eufy's generally good for local storage like Reolink, but I think Reolink's app and integration with their NVRs is a bit better if you're building a whole system. The TrackMix is pretty unique with that dual view.

Do I absolutely need a monthly subscription to use these cameras, or can I just use an SD card for storage?

D Daisy 2 months ago
Nope, you don't need a subscription. I just use an SD card in my E1 Pro and it works perfectly fine for motion recordings. Cloud is optional.

N Nick 2 months ago
The subscription is for cloud storage, but you can totally use an NVR or just the micro SD card in the camera itself. Most people I know just use local storage.
